Challenger Program
What is the Little League Challenger Program?
The Little League Challenger Program is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.

Who can participate in the Little League Challenger Program?
Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. If an individual can participate in the traditional Little League Baseball or Softball program with reasonable accommodations, they should do so. The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in school. The Senior League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 15 and above (no maximum age).

T-Ball:
The T-Ball Division is for boys and girls league age 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. Rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. The primary goals of the T-Ball Division are to instruct children in the fundamentals of baseball and to allow them to experience the value of teamwork. Depending on the players' experience, they will have opportunities to receive three underhand pitches from a coach before a Tee is introduced. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond. Players that register for this division will need to attend an Intro to the game with their parents.  This will take place during skills assessment.

This division will typically have 1 game with 1 practice a week.

Machine Pitch - Single-A (A):
The Single-A (Coach Pitch) Division is for league age 7-8-year old as they continue to develop their skills. In this division, players received pitch balls from the coach before the ball is placed on a tee. This division keeps score and follows the fundamental rules of the Minor League Baseball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond. Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment.

This division will typically have 1 or 2 games with 1 practice a week.

Rookie - Double-A (AA):
The Double-A (Machine /Player Pitch) Division is for league age 7-9-year old as they continue to develop their skills. In this division, players received pitch balls from the coach for several innings and then other players for the remaining innings.   The mix of machine and player pitching will progress as the season moves along to help build up the experience of facing other players pitching. This division keeps score and follows the fundamental rules of the Minor League Baseball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond.   Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment and the evaluation will be determined if they should be part of this division or the Triple-A (AAA) division.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.

Minors Triple-A (AAA) - Player Pitch:
The Triple-A (Player Pitch) Division is for league age 9-10-year-old with a league option to allow qualifying league age 8 years old. At this division, all pitching will be from the players to the batters. Development in hitting and fielding continue as the players are prepared to advance to the Major League Baseball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.   Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment and the evaluation will be determined if they should be part of this division or the Double-A (AA) division.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.

Majors or Little League Baseball:
The Major League Baseball Division or Little League Baseball is for league age 11-12-year old and is the division that is most closely associated with the Little League World Series.  In the Majors Division, there is a league option to allow qualifying league age 10-year old. At this division, players continue to develop their skills as they prepare for postseason tournaments. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet.   This division does introduce more of the rules of the higher levels of baseball in terms of substitution rules with fielding and only the nine players in the active lineup bat.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.

Intermediate Baseball or 50/70 Baseball:
The Intermediate (50/70) Baseball Division is for league age 11-13-year old. This division offers a transition for players between the standard Little League field size (46-foot pitching distance and 60-foot base paths) and the Junior/Senior/Big League field size (60-foot, 6-inch pitching distance, and 90-foot base paths).  Many of the Junior League rules will be used such as runners being permitted to lead off bases, runners may attempt to steal at any time, and allowing an on-deck batter.   These rules are more in line with the rules used in High School and above levels of baseball.  The diamond used is a 70-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 50 feet.    The Intermediate Division of baseball does have a Little League World Series like the one associated with the Majors division that occurs in California annually.  This division follows the rules of the higher levels of baseball in terms of substitution rules with fielding and only the nine players in the active lineup bat.

This division will typically have 2 games a week and 1 practice a week.

The Junior Baseball Division is for league age 12-14-year old. This division uses a conventional sized baseball field and follows traditional baseball rules. The Senior Baseball Division is for league age 13-16-year old and builds on the Junior and Intermediate Division offerings.
