Rookies Softball:
The Rookies Softball division is for league age 6-9 year-olds. In this division, batters are pitched to by coaches (and may use a tee after coach pitching). Development in hitting and fielding continues as the players are prepared to advance to the Minor League Softball Division. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching is done by coaches during games. Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment.
Minor League Softball:
The Minor Softball division is for league age 8-11 year olds. In this division, players begin to pitch to batters. The league may field teams in this division that are Minor (Hybrid) which is a combination of player and coach pitch and/or Minor (Player Pitch) which is 100% player pitch. Development in hitting and fielding continues as the players are prepared to advance to the Major League Softball division. The diamond used at all Minor divisions is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 35 feet. Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment.
Major League Softball:
The Major League Softball division is for league age 11-12 year olds. At this division, players continue to develop their skills as they prepare for postseason tournaments. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 40 feet. Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment.
Junior Division
The Junior League Softball division is for league age 12-14 year olds, and uses a conventional 60-foot diamond with a 43 foot pitching distance. Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment.
Senior Division
The Senior League Softball division is for league age 13-16 years olds, using a 60-foot diamond with a pitching distance of 43 feet. Players that register for this division will need to attend a skills assessment.
Division Placement
Player skills assessments, evaluations and enrollment numbers will determine placement of a player within the appropriate division. Players who register for one division may be placed on a team in another division, due to the overlap of ages across some divisions. For example, a 13 year old who registers for the Senior Division, may be placed or drafted to a Junior Division team based on enrollment numbers and/or the results of the assessment and evaluation process.
