Opening Day Details

Dear Oviedo Little League Families,

We are excited to officially kick off the 2026 season with Opening Day on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at King Street!

For those who are new to Oviedo Little League, Opening Day is one of our biggest and most exciting events of the year — a fun-filled day designed for all of our players and their families.

OPENING CEREMONY & TEAM PARADE
The day begins early!
• All teams must gather on the girls’ softball field by 8:00am.
• The Parade of Teams will begin promptly at 8:30am.

Each team will parade around the field, down the first base side of the Major Field, through home plate, and out to the outfield. Every player will be announced by name as they enter.

Managers — please help ensure your teams are lined up and ready so we can begin on time.

Following the parade, teams will participate in scheduled scrimmages. We encourage everyone to stay and enjoy a full day at the ballpark!

FAMILY FUN & ACTIVITIES
Opening Day is also one of our league fundraisers and is geared toward all of the children in our league. The OLL Board has put tremendous time and effort into creating a memorable experience for your family.

Activities will include:
• Gift Basket Raffle
• Bounce Houses & Games (tickets will be on sale – CARD or CASH)
• Food & Concessions
• Vendors
• And lots of family fun!

Please note: Bounce house tickets and raffle tickets are CARD of CASH.

PARKING INFORMATION
Parking will be limited in the main baseball lot.
• Front parking will be reserved primarily for Handicap Parking.
• Additional parking will be available in the grassy areas behind the T-Ball fields (these areas will be mowed and cleared).
• Parking will also be available at Oviedo High School.

Please plan to arrive early.

GIFT BASKET RAFFLE
Each team is required to provide one basket for the raffle. Please watch for information from your manager or team parent regarding your team’s theme and requested donations.

Important Details:
• Each basket will have its own specific raffle ticket.
• Raffle tickets are CARD OR CASH.
• Baskets must be assembled, wrapped, and clearly labeled with:
– Team Name
– Contents
– Estimated Value

Baskets may be turned in on Friday, February 20th, or the morning of Opening Day. A designated table will be set up in the grassy area near the concession stand.

FOOD & BBQ PRE-ORDERS
Our concession stand will be open and serving:
• Breakfast items
• BBQ pulled pork
• Ribs  (Mission BBQ will be providing the sides for the BBQ).
• Hamburgers & hot dogs
• Snacks & drinks

Pre-Purchase BBQ To-Go:
If you would like to pre-order BBQ items, please email Edwin Wiggins at [email protected] with your name and phone number.

Pricing:
• Boston Butt – $35
• Rack of Spareribs – $35

All pre-purchased items must be picked up by 1:00pm on Opening Day. Please bring a cooler to store your items.

PICTURES
Theme Street Pictures will be on-site for individual and team photos.
• Teams will receive assigned picture times.
• Individual photos may be taken at any time.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We are looking for parents willing to volunteer for a few hours during Opening Day. Your help makes events like this possible, and we truly appreciate any time you can give.

We look forward to seeing everyone on February 21st as we celebrate the start of another great season. Let’s make this Opening Day one to remember!
